Coal Valley Piloting has operated in the trucking industry for many years. Our pilot truck operators are experienced licensed drivers. They provide local knowledge and exceptional, committed customer service for every client.
We are equipped to reliably and safely service the trucking industry moving oversized loads on highways, secondary and industrial roads.

Owner Jeremy Catsirelis and his wife Melyssa were born and raised in the Elk Valley. Jeremy started his career in the trucking industry in 2006 in Yellowknife NWT. He worked in the warehouse moving and loading freight and quickly obtained his class 1 license. After gaining knowledge and experience trucking, they moved back to the Sparwood, B.C. to continue their careers as well as settle down and start a family. Jeremy started moving over dimensional loads as well as over length loads which introduced him to the pilot truck industry. Jeremy and Melyssa purchased Gary’s Pilot Service in 2017 and Melyssa has been running the business while Jeremy continues to drive truck. Jeremys knowledge and skill in all aspects of the trucking industry and Melyssa on the business side has allowed our company to thrive and become what it is today.
Gary’s Pilot Service was started and built from one truck trying to meet the demand for oversize loads around the Elk Valley. Sparwood, British Columbia is a small coal town right on the British Columbia and Alberta border. With the coal mines booming, the business grew to 5 trucks quickly to help accommodate the trucking companies in the area. We have created thriving relationships withtrucking companies that deliver to the many coal mines and hope to continue to do so. The business had a rebrand in 2021 and has been running as Coal Valley Piloting since.
